CREATING A COMPACT CORE AROUND LIGHT

Semi-Detached Addition

Location

Vaucluse, Sydney

Completion

2004

Type

Residential

Traditional Custodians

Birrabirragal

Our concept for this renovation of a long thin two storey semi-detached dwelling was to create a compact grouping of entry, stair, storage and kitchen joinery to free up and enlarge the perception of space through the living spaces of the house. The ribbon of joinery wrapping the stairs and entry create a subtle separation of spaces and functions within one larger living volume.
